Sharing the blessings from 2025 and our upcoming plans for 2026

Last August 17, 2025 we were delighted to host Bread & Roses Grocery Truck Time Machine for a puppet making and community building event in collaboration with Una & Jacob. Local Vermonters came together to share food, make puppets, and listen to our time traveling friends from 2175.
“Bread & Roses is a grocery truck-turned-time machine from Lamoille County in the year 2175. Did you know that in the future, everyone has more than enough to eat and feels a deep sense of belonging and care for our community”
"We use puppetry to inspire joy, critical thinking and collective action.”

Family's with children of all ages came together to join in the fun and play of puppet making. We shared our creations in an impromptu puppet talent show!
Guests generously shared fresh fruits, veggies, baked goods, and specialty products with each other; modeling mutual aid and community care that we see in the beautiful vision of our co-created future together!
Donation from Water Wanderings Inc. to Apprentice Earth Inc.
In 2024 we formed Apprentice Earth Inc. a 501 (c)(3) non-profit to support the educational programming at Kindred CRAFT. As a result we were introduced to Sonya Buglion-Gluck, the founder and Executive Director of Water Wanderings Inc. an outdoor summer camp on Green River Reservoir that was in the process of shutting down. Sonya invited Nina and Roberto to facilitate an art-in-the-woods lesson to one of their last family camp groups. It was a beautiful day on the reservoir and we got to practice canoe team rowing out to their campsite. The Board of Water Wanderings Inc. transferred camping equipment and their remaining funds to Apprentice Earth Inc. so that we may build out our programming and continue to provide outdoor nature immersion learning experiences for children and families.
Building the Farm-To-Table Family Camp
Because of the generous donation from Water Wanderings Inc. we are inviting and hosting a team of experienced educator parents and their children to come to Kindred CRAFT this summer August 2026 to design and implement a one-week family centered farm & wilderness opportunity.
Expanding the Food Forest
In the spring of 2025 we planted 18 fruit and nut bearing trees and shrubs in the field to expand the agro-forest food system.

Fall Planting Event
On November 8, 2025 Kindred CRAFT hosted a group of local and regional Forest Farmers to participate in workshop and planting event. We successfully planted several varieties of native forest floor edible and medicinal seed and root stock including; wild ramps, goldenseal, solomon seal, ginseng, bloodroot, & black cohosh.
Support & Mentorship
We are honored to have received a NOFA-VT 2026 Resilience Grant Award for the food system and to be included in the Working Lands Together 2026 cohort. We appreciate this opportunity to continue our efforts towards building a cooperative based on shared values of land and people care. It is our intention to have a membership structure to bring on new members before the end of the year!
Shout out to Jennifer and Samantha from Liberation Ecosystems for their community building efforts in organizing and facilitating the Farmer 2 Farmer Gatherings. It has been an invaluable bonding experience for the growing community of small family famers of color.
