Fundamentals of Carpentry

Over two days we will build a small structure and in the process learn about construction drawings, common building materials, hand tools, power tools, and how to assemble everything. We will build a floor, walls, roof, and apply roofing and siding. Learners will (hopefully) leave empowered to take on their own small structures.

September 23 & 24, 9:00am -  5:00pm

This 2-day class is being offered, FREE of charge, exclusively to Queer, Genderqueer, Femme and BIPOC folks as those groups are commonly excluded from accessing these life giving skills.*

All are invited to stay overnight at the site. Lunch and dinner will be provided free of charge on Saturday as well as breakfast and lunch on Sunday. Rides can potentially be arranged if travel is a barrier for you.

Our hope is that participants will come away from this community-offering with new skills to share in order to continue to resist oppression and grow our ability to be on land together in a regenerative way.

*If finances are not a struggle for you, we would happily accept donations. Funds go toward buying food, paying facilitators, travel reimbursements, and project materials.

**We unfortunately cannot offer this class to people who don’t have health insurance right now

***We will also be asking that you sign a liability waiver before participating
